Kiss The Boy (from Driving On)
Maya gets fed up with James and Alex being hopelessly in love with each other, but never doing anything about it. As James and Alex sing about how scared they are to say anything, Maya tells them to just “Kiss the Boy.” Inspired by “Kiss the Girl” (well maybe just the title of the song), I realized it’s a lot easier to come up with rhymes for “Boy” than “Girl” so I was happy this is a queer love story. With its laundry list of rhymes, the chorus is Maya’s desperate attempt to get the boys to just kiss.
