More to Life (Satie the Musical)

Ravel comforts Satie as he’s in his darkest hour: drunk and despairing, regretful of his decisions, and losing all hope. Inspired by “impressionist” music (Ravel’s music included), this song uses chord planing and a simple harmonic texture before growing. The violin floats above Ravel’s bass voice echoing melodies of advice that Ravel has given in the past.
