Sondheim Medley (I Remember / Take Me To The World)

Combining two songs from Sondheim’s Evening Primrose, I arranged this piece for University Singers as part of their concert that centered around climate change. With lyrics reminiscing about remembering sky, leaves, and snow, “I Remember” takes on new meaning: the not-so-distant possibility of a world where our climate no longer can support a blue sky, a fall with leaves, or soft snow. The singers beg to “Take Me To The World” that they once remember and end with a warning: “Careful, or the world will never be the same.”
